The Business Performance awards recognise companies, individuals and initiatives across the packaging supply chain who are committed to sustainability and using packaging to reduce their impact on the environment.

Sustainability Leader of the Year

This category is open to individuals working across the entire packaging supply chain including retailers, brand owners, manufacturers, designers, material suppliers and waste management companies.

Recycler or Recovery Initiative of the Year

This category is open to recycling and waste-handling companies, as well as those companies significantly contributing to recycling in the packaging supply chain.

Judging Criteria

Entries should demonstrate:

  • Clear leadership and commitment to sustainability and circularity
  • Measurable outcomes, such as carbon reduction, resource efficiency or innovation investment
  • Integration of environmental strategy across business operations or supply chains
  • Transparency, data-led progress and compliance with current legislation
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and industry leadership

 

Supporting materials such as data sheets, case studies, testimonials or third-party endorsements are encouraged.

Sustainable Brand of the Year

This category is open to brands of all sizes operating as part of the packaging supply chain.

Sustainable Investment Project of the Year

This award is open to all businesses throughout the packaging supply chain who can demonstrate an investment in a sustainable product, process, equipment or initiative which has garnered exceptional results in improved sustainable practices.

The winning entry will detail:

  • What the initial objectives/pledge of the investment were.
  • How their investment project has improved their sustainability practices.
  • Evidence of sustainable return on investment.
  • Detail of equipment, third parties, processes or products where applicable.
  • Results of the investment boosting output/business performance as well as circularity.
  • Provide any further data on sustainability within the packaging supply chain relating to this entry

Entrants should submit supporting material and evidence to support their entry. Supporting material should include data sheets demonstrating impact on sustainable practices.

Sustainable Packaging Business of the Year

This category is open to packaging manufacturers, convertors and distributors of all sizes.

This category is open to companies within the sustainable supply chain such as contract packers and logistics companies.

  • How packaging is a pillar of hitting sustainable targets and how those shape every aspect of the business.
  • Progress made towards those targets demonstrated through robust data.
  • A clear understanding of the current legislative landscape.
  • How environmental strategy is clearly communicated internally and how individuals are empowered or incentivised to work towards a common goal.
  • Data on how the business’ environmental targets are progressing and progress on a year-by-year basis.
  • An understanding of packaging’s positive impact on the environment and its protection of products.
  • Provide any further data on sustainability within the packaging supply chain relating to this entry

The winning entry needs to demonstrate:
